WEKAYA prepared an integrated program for workers of the medical sector in order to qualify them for the safe handling of medical waste, as this program aims to make the trainee aware of the types of medical waste which is infectious, highly infectious, hazardous , pharmaceutical and/or chemical along with sorting and classification methods as well as the proper packaging,storage and guidance necessary to deal with these wastes due to their hazardous nature.

Medical Waste officer

Each medical facility appoints a technical or medical cadre in the position of Medical Waste officer, and WEKAYA trains and qualifies such Medical Waste officer to be the person responsible for monitoring and following-up the medical waste management in the facility through sorting, categorization and packaging as well as communicating with WEKAYA for the collection of medical waste.
